diwali a festival of light


The diwali is celebrated as the festival of light which is celebrated mainly by hindu community of India. This is celebrated on the occasion of return of lord Rama to Ayodhya the home town after defeating the powerful and evil demon King Ravana of Lanka. Lord Rama defeated Ravana and brought his wife back from Ashok vatika in Lanka who was kidnapped by Ravana. Ravana was a great warrior,a brahmin,a great philosopher,a learner and educated one. He had a lot of good things and personality in within. But despite all a great and one of most dominating bad habit or bad character he had was the list and want of other women which degraded all his positivity and goodness. Due to the same reason he faced his greatest downfall and finally got killed by lord Rama. In this war Ram was assisted by his younger brother lakshmana,a great warrior lord Hanuman, jambwant ji, shugriva, nal-nil, Angad,etc. In last time of war the brother of Ravana-vibhishan came to join Ram and helped him to get victory over Ravana by telling the secret of his death.
The victory of lord Rama is seen as the victory of- goodness, truth,god's etc.
In today's time the day is celebrated as Deepawali. People light diyas and fire crackers to enjoy and worship lord ganesh and goddess Lakshmi. In the evening together with all family members people celebrate and worship for good fortune and after worship they light their home and house with diyas or clay pot and also with electric lights. This is  also a festival of brother and sister. Sister offer their brothers a small earthen pots filled with murhi ( made of fried paddy) , lava and sweets. Their brothers pray for good fortune to their sisters and joy runs through family.
But due to fire cracking the environment get polluted and also it causes some serious health issues. Speechless innocent animals get frightened by the enormous noise and high sound and patients especially heart patients and asthma patients get influenced by this act of happiness. Some micro and small species get dead and some harmful microorganisms evolves.
I am neither against nor support it. Because due to happiness involved in it,this such special festival can't be avoided. On this occasion people clean not only their houses but also nearby area, school,roads.Light goes even to those places which are in dark whole years. But when crackers involved in it then it causes lot of problems. Crackers fire is good with none of any angle. It is of no use to society. With late in time it become the sign of showing happiness. It not only create colourful light but also produce sounds which let others know that the happiness is there with someone. This is itself some good and very much bad.
It's time that we need to find some alternatives to celebrate such occasions and should say no to crackers and pollution. Unless that day won't be far when we would be in need of oxygen mask even at home to breathe or human species will be on verse of extinction.
